Radial nerve, radial nerve neuritis
Radial nerve (n. radialis) — is mixed in the functions (also responsible for movement and sensitivity) of the nerve. Radial nerve is formed mainly from fibers C7 - spinal nerves (part of the C5, C6, C8 and Th1), passing first in the mid-trunk, and then the rear beam brachial plexus.
Anatomy of the radial nerve.
Damage to the radial nerve (as a result of surgery, injury, including after the injection, shocks and prolonged crossclamping, fractures and dislocations of the joints), accompanied by inflammatory changes in it (neuritis of the radial nerve) and manifests itself as a impairment of motor and sensory functions in its area of innervation at hand.
Motor fibers of the radial nerve innervate the extensors of the forearm, wrist and fingers, instep forearm muscle that gave the thumb and the muscle involved in flexion of the forearm. Radial nerve sensory fibers innervate the skin of the back of the shoulder, the back surface of the forearm toward the rear surface of the brush and partially I, II and III fingers sometimes.
If it affects the spinal nerves C7 and medium barrel drops the main function of the radial nerve in combination with a partial lesion of the median nerve, his upper legs. Neuritis of the radial nerve at this level appears as a weakening of the rotation of the forearm inwards and palmar flexion wrist. With the damage of the rear beam brachial plexus fall the same basic function of radial nerve, but in combination with a lesion axillary nerve.
Diagnosis of the level of damage to the radial nerve in neuritis produced by ENG.
With a high radial nerve lesion (radial nerve neuritis) in the armpit, in the upper third of the shoulder extensor paralysis occurs forearm, wrist, major phalanges, muscles, abductor thumb instep; weakened flexion of forearm. Extinguished reflex tendons triceps and somewhat relaxed karporadialny reflex.
Sensitivity falls on the back of the shoulder, forearm, wrist and fingers in part. Area-sensitive disorders in the wrist is often significantly reduced due to the overlap zone of innervation of adjacent nerves. Joint-muscular sense is unaffected. At lower levels, damage the function of radial nerve suffers partially because preserved above the exhaust branch of radial nerve, which facilitates the task of topical diagnosis.
Damage to the radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis) in place of the fracture of humerus.
If it affects the radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis), quite often, at the level of the middle third of the shoulder remains a function extension and forearm extensor, elbow reflex triceps and did not affect sensitivity to the shoulder.
If it affects the radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis) in the bottom third of the shoulder can be preserved function of forearm flexion and sensitivity on the rear surface of the forearm, as the relevant branches away from the main trunk of the nerve above the middle third of the shoulder.
The use of acupuncture is very effective in the treatment of neuritis of the radial nerve.
If it affects the radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis) on forearm function of bending the forearm, usually preserved; motor impairment in such injury of radial nerve lesions are limited to hand and finger extensor muscles with impaired sensitivity only in the brush. At the same lesion of radial nerve is even lower at the middle third of the forearm, the motor function disorders may be even more limited, with preservation of wrist extension may suffer only major extension phalanges.
If it affects the radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis) develops weakness of the extensor hand, there is a typical incident or overhanging brush.
Among the numerous descriptions of samples or tests that determine the movement disorders in lesions of radial nerve (radial nerve neuritis) may be noted:
- Inability extension wrist and fingers.
- Impossibility of diversion of the thumb.
- When breeding palms folded together hands with straight fingers, the fingers of the affected hand is not given, and bent - how to "glide" on the palm of healthy, diverted the brush.
Treatment for radial nerve neuritis chosen individually in each case. It includes a set of conservative procedures:
- stimulation of nerve and muscle
- vitamin B, "C" and "E"
- antiviral drugs
- homeopathic remedies
- surgery (neurolysis, nerve trunk cross-linking, etc.)
Neurostimulation (physiotherapy) eliminates paresthesias and pain, restores power in the muscles of the hands in the treatment of neuritis of the radial nerve.
